Sprouting Bean Plants in Your Classroom


Sprouting beans in your classroom is a great springtime science experiment for young students.

What you need:

just a bullet point Dried beans (You can get a package from the grocery store.)

Garden soil

Foam cups

Popsicle sticks

Directions: 

1. Loosely fill the foam cup with garden soil to about 1 inch of the top. 

2. Moisten the soil. ( Be careful not to make the soil too wet.)

3. Place the seed in the cup and cover with about a 1/2 inch of soil.

4. Record the growth of the beans with this free printable chart PDF:
